The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Preview
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is the latest addition to the Zelda universe coming from Nintendo and it is an action-adventure high fantasy video game that will be released in 2017. The game was announced at the 2016 E3 and it will come out for the Wii U and for the NX (the mobile console that will also be released in 2017).
The story of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild takes place in Hyrule after Link slept for 100 years and he now wakes up with a mysterious voice that will set him on the path to defeat Ganon once more.
When it comes to gameplay, the new Zelda game will have an open world (the developers said it will be twelve times larger than the one in Twilight Princess) with much more realistic characters and the possibility to go through the dungeons in any order you want.
You can climb any surface (also there is now a jump button) and interact with most of the environment in ways you couldn’t do before. An example given was the combination of two rocks and a plank to make a catapult, burning large areas and other things of this sort. Since you can only recover your health by eating food, the cooking system is also a way through which you can interact with the landscape and creatures around.
The weapons are extremely diverse from normal ones to skeletal arms and the great thing is that you can take any weapon your enemies drop and use it against them. Since all weapons deteriorate over time you are practically forced to always try new ones.
With the introduction of the day and night cycle, the enemies will behave differently according to the time of the day and you can easily sneak up on them when they are asleep. The AI was enhanced by a lot for your foes and you will see them taking better weapons to throw against you if they simply lie there next to one of their fallen comrades.
The Sheikah Slate, coming from an ancient warrior clan, is an artifact that allows Link to get a map of his surroundings, create waypoints and learn more about the enemy stats. Once new runes are discovered, this artifact can be improved to create bombs, manipulate objects with a sort of telekinetic power and even stop time for the objects and enemies around you.
Another thing announced by the developers of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is that the game will support Amiibo figurines that can give the players new gameplay elements such as companions that you can summon.
We will keep you posted with new information as it is unveiled and in the meantime don’t forget to share this on your social media and check out the introduction to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild down below.
