Origins 2016 Awards
The Origins 2016 Awards took place between the 15th and the 19th of June at the Origins Game Fair and it was held by the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design which is a network comprised of gaming professionals intent on the promotion of innovation and excellence in the design and production of games.
Star Wars: Imperial Assault (Fantasy Flight Games) Designed by Justin Kemppainen, Corey Konieczka, Jonathan Ying. This game also won the Origins Fan Favorite award and as you will see it was quite a big year for the Star Wars franchise.
7 Wonders Duel (Repos Productions) Designed by Antoine Bauza , Bruno Cathala. Again, this game also won the Origins Fan Favorite award.
DC Comics Dice Masters: War of Light (WizKids) Designed by Mike Elliott, Eric M. Lang. It also was a winner of the Origins Fan Favorite award.
Codenames (Czech Games Edition) Designed by Vlaada Chvatil. Also the winner of the Origins Fan Favorite award.
Terrain Tiles (Lost Battalion Games) Designed by Becky Siebe. For this category the Fan Favorite was Castle Panic: The Dark Titan (Fireside Games) Designed by Justin De Witt.
Star Wars Armada (Fantasy Flight Games) Designed by James Kniffen Christian T. Petersen. Also winner of the Origins Fan Favorite award.
Star Wars: Force and Destiny (Fantasy Flight Games) Designed by Jay Little which released the sourcebooks Savage Spirits and Nexus of Power this year. This RPG won the award of the Origins Fan Favorite as well.
Game of the Year
Codenames (Czech Games) Designed by Vlaada Chvátil came out to be the best game released this year.
