Star Wars Savage Spirits

The new sourcebook for seekers is entitled Star Wars Savage Spirits and it will come out in the second quarter of 2016 as an extension to the Force and Destiny tabletop role-playing game.

Force and Destiny was the third of the compatible RPGs released by Fantasy Flight for the Star Wars universe and it continues the Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion with a focus on the Jedi and other users of the Force. There are the following classes available: consular, guardian, mystic, seeker, sentinel, warrior and universal, but each module wants to further diversify this palette of choices.

This book focuses primarily on Seekers, which use the force to explore new areas and act as the wanderers of the galaxy. Until now you had three specializations for the seeker: the Ataru Striker (agile lightsaber fighter), the Hunter (who didn’t need a lightsaber) and the Pathfinder (similar to the druid or ranger of D&D, with an animal companion).

Each new specialization comes with new backgrounds, signature abilities and Moralities along with new gear. The Executioner specialization transforms the Seeker into a predator that likes to kill from afar. The Navigator is all about discovering uncharted planets, new trade routes and even finding his way through a city and thus their abilities are focused on Astrogation, Survival and Perception. The last addition is the Hermit, which is even more isolate than the typical Seekers, preferring to commune with the living Force and understand nature better.

The Game Masters receive aid with wilderness settings and survival encounters as well as general advice about running a game for Seekers. A bestiary has been added as well with monsters like the horned kath hounds of Dantooine, the vrblthers of Nar Shaddaa or the glowbats and nexu from Spintiri. These monsters could become pets and thus there are instructions on how to tame one.

The Star Wars Savage Spirits sourcebook will have around 144 pages and it will also contain three short adventures centered on the Seeker which take place in a remote settlement in the Outer Rim or in the Deep Core and you will also find great items that will help you both in a vast jungle and in a crowded metropolis.
