Uncharted 4 Review
Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End is the fourth and final installment of the Uncharted series developed by Naughty Dog which featured the story of Nathan Drake and it was released on the 10th of May 2016 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive game.
Although the fans of the series might mourn the fact that this will be the final game of the great Uncharted franchise, this ending is truly a perfect conclusion, tying all knots together into a thrilling whole.
Even if it starts with an exhilarating sequence in which you are chased by several boats and have to find some shelter, the pace of this game is a bit slower than in the previous ones. Every step you take is really stunning and the designers managed to set the tone for each part, combining action with the story in a very balanced way.
The combat itself is really fast paced and it might seem chaotic at first, but you have many choices in approaching each encounter such as using stealth to move past them or take them by surprise, choosing from a variety of weapons and also the melee approach (which is a bit clunky).
The game isn’t an open-world one but it still gives you more freedom than the previous ones and since the story is so good you are rewarded with multiple choices. The puzzles aren’t too difficult and even if they get more complex as the game progresses you will probably think of them as simple obstacles along the way.
The multiplayer online part of Uncharted 4 is quite different from the single player game since there is no story here and you simply have sessions of survival or teamwork that are more elaborate when compared to what you had in Uncharted 3. The new grappling hook gives you many strategic options and the in-game currency can give you access to new companions and more Mysticals.
The multiplayer is a great addition to the game and gives you a great way of continuing to enjoy the game after you finish the campaign, giving Uncharted 4 a longer play time. The maps are really amazing and the multiple modes will allow you to explore different ways of playing.
Overall Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a really fit conclusion to an amazing franchise and it sets a new high for what can be achieved in gaming so if you haven’t tried it yet then this should definitely be on your list as soon as possible!
