XCOM 2 Shen’s Last Gift
XCOM 2 Shen’s Last Gift is the last part of the Reinforcement Pack, a DLC bundle for the great turn-based tactical strategy game released this DLC we get access to a hidden ADVENT facility and since there may be some lost information about her father, Chief Engineer Lil Shen will accompany your squad in searching the place for any technology that might still be available.
Among a crowd of skyscrapers connected by bridges you can find the test facility of ADVENT which was where the MECs were previously developed. This means that once you get access to it you will find the robot prototype unit on which Dr. Raymond Shen was working, offering you access to a whole new class.
Since they are robots they have heavy armor so they can act as covers for your other allies. The sentient robots are quite differently built from humans or aliens so no mind control will work on them and they can even use jet thrusters to reach the roof of a building, making them a truly valuable addition to your fight for humankind.
These new soldiers come with their own strategy mechanics, customization options and of course new combat abilities that will improve your fighting chances. We mentioned the immunity to mind control but fire and poison don’t bother them either. The drawback is that they are quite expensive, having to be manufactured instead of simply being recruited. They provide cover for other soldiers but can’t get to cover themselves and you can only repair one at a time.
When it comes to the story, XCOM 2 Shen’s Last Gift doesn’t offer us too much since we get the same old AI gone bad tale that fails to stir too much interest. The best thing about this mission is the fact that you get to play Lili Shen that is really fun since her hacking skills are unmatched.
The XCOM 2 Shen’s Last Gift DLC can be purchased separately for $9.99 or you can get it with the season pass of XCOM 2 entitled the reinforcement pack (this also includes the DLCs Anarchy’s Children and Alien Hunters).
